Return of the Courtyard
Until June 14, our project "Return of the Courtyard" is on display at MMOMA as part of the "Architecture 2.0" exhibition during A-Fest. We focused on reimagining Moscow's inner courtyards, which currently function primarily as technical zones for parking and utilities, despite possessing a unique capacity to provide a sense of pause that is increasingly rare in modern, transit-oriented urban environments.
The project explores the potential of these spaces to serve as an intimate layer of the urban fabric through small-scale interventions like greenery, lighting, or local commerce. Drawing inspiration from Moscow, Tbilisi, and Samara, we use a video installation and architectural model to demonstrate how the city's hidden potential can be gently reactivated.
